Announcement:
The header of this blog uses the components of taste to set the stage for vetting the good things from the average and not-so-good.  I think myself a competent judge of culinary skill and execution.  Hell, I’ve been eating for nearly 40 years.  But, I am in no way delusional enough to think I am knowledgeable enough to write about the restaurant industry well.  Yet, it seems someone should...

Arts n Carafes
by Kaiser Saucier Trendy! … Cutting-edge!! …  Culinary couture!!! Piles and piles of local culinary magazines line my dwelling, claiming to be the end-all source for sensational regional fare.  Covers boast claims - such as:  “Trendiest Nightspot” “Top-Shelf Bars” or “Best New Chefs” - every month, enticing passersby to grab the periodicals off-the-rack by seducing us...

#musicmonday Savoir Adore - “Sarah’s Secret” This is a serious buzz band to end 2009 with.  I prefer a few of their other songs … maybe they will make the end of year, best of collection.  Hmmm?

Nothing better than drinking LINKS in an airport...
Link Time! The trip to The Big House for the Ohio State vs. Michigan game was better than expected.  I am not sure how to write about sharing the experience of a college football game with 110,922 people.  The whole experience was immense in size and relevance.  The most amazing moment was the F-16 fly-over after the National Anthem.  I was awestruck by the power of the moment. Enough about...

"unfriend"
… is the Oxford Word of the Year 2009. Here is the link to some of the other words that were considered.  Looks as if anything related to Twitter, eco-, or Obama became tinctured with a new meaning. (OUP) Scan down the comments … I think the subtle conversation about teabagging is pretty funny. More to come … Get those questions in for this week’s mailbag.  I am going...

I know we are late. I forgot the LINKS!!!
Link Time! I was too busy with other things to get this put together over the weekend.  Sorry.  Here is an abridged version of what I had sent to me last week. Let’s go. Doesn’t this make you wonder how many other things are stored away and forgotten.  (CNN) I am not sure if I am the only one who thinks this way, but I never use cash.  I always choose to use my check card if I...

Tigers love pepper ... they hate LINKS!
Link Time! Another successful Halloween is over and done.  Saw some really good stuff last night … Joan Holloway … The Progressive Insurance Girl … Travelocity Gnome … Hunter S. Thompson … Paul Tompkins … Avian Flu … Swine Flu … lots of pirates and zombies of different level and effectiveness.  The costume contest winners were a woman dressed as a...
